The short answer

Does the Anjouan licence register list expired licences as valid?

Yes. On 3 October 2026 the register’s data listed 1,539 licences, every one “valid”, and 344 of them had an expiry date before that day, the oldest on 18 July 2025. The register does update entries: between 27 September 2026 and 3 October 2026 it moved 33 expiry dates a year later. Read the expiry date, not the status.

Every entry reads “valid”

Anjouan Gaming publishes its licence register as a search page, and the page carries the whole register as data. We saved it on and on and counted every entry.

27 September 20261,5261,52633618 July 2025
3 October 20261,5391,53934418 July 2025

No other status appears in either snapshot. The word “valid” therefore cannot tell a licence that runs until 21 November 2027 from one whose expiry date passed on 18 July 2025; only the dates beside it can. The authority’s site has separate pages for suspended and revoked licences, which these files do not cover.

How long ago the expiry dates passed

On 3 October 2026, 344 of the 1,539 entries showed an expiry date that had already passed, 110 of them more than six months earlier.

What changed in six days

The register is not frozen. Between 27 September 2026 and 3 October 2026:

  • 14 entries were added, all issued on 30 September 2026, and one was removed.
  • 33 expiry dates moved one year later. 22 of them had already passed on 27 September 2026, so the new date appeared only after the old one had run out.
  • Three entries changed licence type.
  • No entry changed status: every one still read “valid”.

So the register does update entries, sometimes after their expiry date. What it did not do, in either snapshot, is change the status of an entry whose date had passed without an update. The authority says its registry data is updated periodically and suggests contacting it directly when a check is time-sensitive.

Licence types and periods

The register lists four licence types, and most licences run one, two or three years from issue to expiry.

The two casinos we review on this register

On 3 October 2026, the entry for slotsvader.com, licence ALSI-202409044-FI2, read “valid” with an expiry date of 22 September 2026, which had passed; our Slots Vader review sets out what that record does and does not show. Rivo’s licence, ALSI-202606020-FI1, showed an expiry date of 11 June 2027; see our Rivo review.

What the figures do not show

The register gives a status and two dates. It does not say whether an operator past its expiry date has renewed and is waiting for the register to catch up, has stopped trading or has lost its licence, and we have not asked the authority about any entry. Anjouan Gaming’s own verification guidance also says that a register result is not an endorsement of a licence holder.

To check one casino, find its entry by domain, read the expiry date and, if it has passed, ask the operator in writing for its current licence. Complaints about an Anjouan-licensed casino go to the operator first; our guide to complaining about an online casino explains the route and its deadlines.

How we collected the data

We saved the register page on 27 September 2026 and 3 October 2026 (UTC) and keep each copy. A script reads the data embedded in the page and keeps five fields per entry: licence number, type, issue date, expiry date and status. The counts on this page are recalculated from those fields whenever the site is built; the files hold the same fields plus the days past expiry.

We left out the company names and domains the register also lists. This page is about the register, not about any company in it; to see who holds a licence, search its number in the live register.

Is an expired Anjouan licence still valid?

The register does not say. Its data showed “valid” for all 1,539 entries on 3 October 2026, including 344 whose expiry date had passed, the oldest on 18 July 2025. Between the two snapshots, 22 dates that had already passed moved later, so some renewals appear only after the old date has run out.

How many licences are on the Anjouan register?

1,539 on 3 October 2026, up from 1,526 on 27 September 2026: 14 were added and one removed. Most, 1,306, are listed as “b2c” licences, for operators that serve players directly; the rest are “b2b” or mixed types.

Evidence and sources

Research basis
Counted from the data embedded in Anjouan Gaming’s licence register page, saved on 27 September 2026 and 3 October 2026 (UTC) and read by script. Every count can be checked against the CSV files on this page.
What this does not establish
The register shows a status and two dates. It does not show whether a licence past its expiry date has been renewed but not yet updated or has lapsed, and a register entry is not an endorsement of an operator. Suspended and revoked licences are on separate pages of the authority’s site that these files do not cover.
