The short answer

What does “Assessment in progress” show on the Curaçao licence register?

In the Curaçao Gaming Authority’s register dated 2 October 2026, 283 of the 666 online licences were marked “Assessment in progress”, and 281 of those had an expiry date before that day, the earliest on 23 November 2025. Every dated licence ran six months from issue to expiry. The register does not say whether a licence under assessment can still be used.

What the statuses show

The Curaçao Gaming Authority publishes its online gaming licences as a dated PDF register on its licence register page. When we checked on , the latest was the register dated 2 October 2026, listing 666 licences granted under the online gaming policy in force since 15 November 2023.

“Expired”5858Earliest expiry date 24 December 2025
“Revoked”50No expiry date shownA revocation date instead of an expiry date

In all, 342 licences showed an expiry date before 2 October 2026: 281 marked “Assessment in progress”, 58 marked “Expired” and 3 with no status. A licence whose date has passed is more often marked “Assessment in progress” than “Expired” in this register.

Six-month periods

Every one of the 407 licences that show both dates runs exactly six months from issue to expiry. The 209 “Indefinite” licences show N/A instead of an expiry date. The register does not explain either pattern.

Of the 342 licences past their expiry date, 112 had passed it more than six months earlier.

What changed in 11 days

Between the register dated 21 September 2026 and the one dated 2 October 2026:

  • One licence was added and none was removed.
  • Seven licences began a new six-month period on 30 September 2026, the day their previous period ended.
  • Two licences whose period ended on 2 October 2026 changed from no status to “Assessment in progress”.
  • Two licences marked “Expired” became “Indefinite”, with an issue date of 21 September 2026.
  • One expiry date was corrected: the earlier register had printed it before the issue date.

The register is maintained between versions: periods start, statuses move and errors are corrected. A status read on one day can change within days, so note the register’s date when you rely on it.

Revoked licences

The register lists 50 revoked licences, revoked between 30 October 2024 and 2 September 2026. Every note says the revocation was at the request of the operator (one reads “as request of the operator”); none gives another reason.

The licences behind the casinos we review

Winshark and TuffPuff are on a certificate held by GBL Solutions N.V., licence OGL/2024/589/0556. In the register dated 2 October 2026 it is row 297: issued 14 October 2025, expiry 14 April 2026, “Assessment in progress”, one of the 281 licences under assessment whose expiry date had passed. The certificate for winshark.com still read “Active” when we checked it on 3 October 2026. Our Winshark review and TuffPuff review set out both records.

playbaze.com is on a certificate held by Latcas B.V., licence OGL/2024/1676/0905, which this register shows as “Indefinite” with no expiry date; see our PlayBaze review.

What the figures do not show

The authority’s register page says its overviews do not guarantee that a licence is currently valid, because a licensing status can change, and that no rights can be derived from them. The register does not say what “Assessment in progress” means for an operator’s permission to serve players, and we have not asked the authority.

To check one casino, find its certificate on the authority’s certificate site, find its licence number in the latest register, and compare the number, the dates and the status; ask the operator in writing about any difference. The authority does not handle individual complaints: our guide to complaining about an online casino explains what it does do.

How we collected the data

We saved the register dated 21 September 2026 on 27 September 2026 and the one dated 2 October 2026 on 3 October 2026 (UTC), extracted the text of each PDF and read every row with a script that stops if the row numbers do not run without a gap. The registers spell a few things inconsistently, and the files normalise them: “Assessment In progress” is read as “Assessment in progress”, “Indefinte” as “Indefinite” and “Reoked” as “Revoked”. A few dates are written in another format, and one licence number appears twice, once as a business-to-business (B2B) licence and once as a business-to-consumer (B2C) one; the files keep both rows.

We left out licensee names and company numbers; the PDF lists them beside each licence number. This page is about the register, not about any company in it.

Evidence and sources

Research basis
Counted from the authority’s online gaming licence registries dated 21 September 2026 and 2 October 2026, saved on 27 September 2026 and 3 October 2026 (UTC); the text of each PDF was read by script and its row numbers checked. Every count can be checked against the CSV files on this page.
What this does not establish
The authority says its overviews do not guarantee that a licence is currently valid and that no rights can be derived from them. We have not asked the authority what “Assessment in progress” means for an operator’s permission to serve players.
