The short answer
What happens to a pending withdrawal when you take a break or self-exclude?
Take the protection first and ask about the money in the same message. At TuffPuff, Winshark and Slots Vader a break of at least 24 hours cancels pending withdrawals and returns the money to your balance; at Rivo no withdrawal is possible until self-exclusion ends; at Wintino and AquaSpins self-exclusion closes the account.

If you need a break from gambling, take it now. The rules below decide when money already in an account can move, not whether you should stop. Where the request goes by email, you can raise the balance in the same message. Our responsible gambling page lists places to find support.
Seven operators’ general terms were read on (PlayBaze, Wintino and AquaSpins) and (TuffPuff, Winshark, Slots Vader and Rivo). They use three different tools, and the tool decides what happens to a pending withdrawal.
Break, self-exclusion and closure
- A break. The “Take a break” setting at TuffPuff, Winshark and Slots Vader suspends the account for at least 24 hours (clause 4.2).
- Self-exclusion. You are kept out for a period, or until you say otherwise. Rivo takes requests by email from your registered address (clause 12.1). PlayBaze takes them by email to customer support; the request takes effect within 24 hours and the account stays disabled until you say otherwise (clause 6.9).
- Closure. The account ends. Wintino and AquaSpins answer a self-exclusion request by closing the account (clause 3.8), so their closure rules apply to it.
What happens to a pending withdrawal
| Operator | How you ask | A pending withdrawal | Your balance afterwards | Clause |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TuffPuff, Winshark and Slots Vader | “Take a break” in the account, for at least 24 hours | Cancelled, and the money returned to the casino balance | Can be requested again when the break ends | 4.2, 4.4 |
| Rivo | Email to support@rivo.casino from your registered address | No withdrawals while the self-exclusion lasts; bets still open settle on the official result | Winnings can be withdrawn once the self-exclusion ends | 12.1, 12.3 |
| PlayBaze | Email to customer support from your registered address; in effect within 24 hours | Not stated; the account is disabled until you say otherwise | Withdrawals from a locked or closed account go through customer service | 6.9, 8.5 |
| Wintino and AquaSpins | Email to customer support, who close the account | Not stated for self-exclusion; an ordinary closure with a pending withdrawal voids all funds | The terms do not say whether the voiding rule applies to a self-exclusion closure | 3.7, 3.8 |
A cancelled withdrawal is not a refusal. If a break returns the money to your balance, request it again once the break has ended, and keep the cancellation notice. Our pending-withdrawal guide explains how to follow a request that has stalled.
Clauses that pull in different directions
Rivo’s clause 12.1 says the account stays inactive until you tell Rivo otherwise; clause 12.3 says the exclusion cannot be shortened or cancelled until the period you chose has expired. Ask Rivo to confirm the end date in writing when you make the request.
Wintino and AquaSpins close the account on a self-exclusion request (clause 3.8), while clause 3.7 voids all funds on an account closed with a balance or a pending withdrawal. Their terms do not say whether clause 3.7 reaches a self-exclusion closure, so ask in the same message for the balance to be paid out. Do not delay the request to get a withdrawal through first.
Sister sites and national schemes
TuffPuff, Winshark and Slots Vader say a player who closes an account because of problems with gambling may not play on the partner sites named in the casino’s licence (clause 7.4), and agrees never to open a new account at that casino (clause 7.2). Wintino and AquaSpins ask you to tell them about any other accounts you hold with them and not to open new ones (clause 3.8).
An operator’s exclusion covers that operator and any partners it names, not the wider market, so use each site’s own tools as well. Some countries run national schemes. In Ireland, the National Gambling Exclusion Register chapter of the gambling act (sections 44 to 49) had not been commenced, and at a webinar on the regulator told operators it had no go-live date.
One message for protection and payment
A single message can protect you and your money. Send it from the email address registered with the account, or through the channel the terms name, and keep the reply:
Please apply [a break / self-exclusion] to my account from today. My balance is [amount], and I have [a pending withdrawal of amount / no pending withdrawal]. Please confirm in writing how and when the balance will be paid to me, and the date the exclusion ends.
Closing the account instead follows different rules again; our guide to closing an account with money in it compares them.

Frequently asked questions
Does self-exclusion cancel a pending withdrawal?
At some casinos, yes. At TuffPuff, Winshark and Slots Vader even a break of at least 24 hours cancels pending withdrawals and returns the money to the balance (clause 4.4), and at Rivo no withdrawal is possible until self-exclusion ends. Take the protection anyway and ask how the balance will be paid.
Link to this answerCan I withdraw money while self-excluded?
Not at Rivo: clause 12.3.1 blocks withdrawals for the whole period, and winnings from bets still open become withdrawable only after it ends. PlayBaze disables the account until you say otherwise and sends withdrawals from a closed or locked account through customer service (clause 8.5).
Link to this answerDoes a casino break stop withdrawals?
At TuffPuff, Winshark and Slots Vader it cancels any request already pending, and the money goes back to your casino balance. You can ask for the withdrawal again once the break, which lasts at least 24 hours, has ended (clauses 4.2 and 4.4).
Link to this answerDoes self-excluding at one casino block its sister sites?
Sometimes. TuffPuff, Winshark and Slots Vader say a player who closes an account because of problems with gambling may not play on the partner sites named in the casino’s licence (clause 7.4). An operator’s exclusion does not cover unrelated casinos, so use each site’s own tools as well.
Link to this answerIs there a national self-exclusion register in Ireland?
Not yet in operation. The register chapter of the Irish gambling act (sections 44 to 49) had not been commenced, and at a webinar on 17 June 2026 the regulator said it had no go-live date. Until it starts, exclusions are arranged with each operator.

- What this does not establish
- Each operator’s terms cover its own tools and named partners, not other operators or national schemes, and they do not settle how conflicting clauses are applied. No break or exclusion was requested for this guide.
